How I Built My Own Bookkeeping Business from Scratch (And How You Can Too!)

After what I thought was a successful interview for a bookkeeping position, I was shocked to learn I didn’t get the job. When I inquired about the reason, the employer was brutally honest: my social media presence and personal beliefs made her uncomfortable. Rather than letting that rejection defeat me, I decided to turn it into fuel. I realized I didn’t need to work for someone else; I could build my own company and work for myself. That’s when The Faithful Bookkeeper was born.

Starting from Scratch

At the time, I had some bookkeeping experience, but it had been over ten years since I’d worked in the field, and I wasn’t certified in any bookkeeping software. Finding Clients and Staying Motivated

If someone chooses not to hire me, I don’t take it personally. I believe sometimes a “no” is God’s way of protecting me from something not meant for me.
